The long and short.

Romero writes and directs it. It’s going to be an independent film;Romero can do anything he wants, how he wants.
Opening 2007? Not sure really…sorry
This film is going to take place the same night as “Night of the Living Dead” meaning it is outbreak day ONE. This film will be a re-boot of the series, (see~Batman Begins). Meaning it and future sequels will take place outside of our known “Dead” universe.
The whole move is made with hand held cameras for that “You’re really there” feeling. It is shot from the point of view of kids out in the woods making their own horror movie when the outbreak occurs. They are attacked and learn about the Zombies while filming and at some point they may try to learn about the Blair Witch too, I’m not sure.
Looks promising!

Zombie.
Oh man. So Close.

This movie was scheduled to come out around now but something has the release date pushed back to a yet to be determined date. The reviews are horrendous but I think it’s going to be a good film. The die hards are whining the same old tired song. The zombies are fast, they can climb stairs, they don’t bumble about like the old Romero zombies. Blah, blah, blah.
The people that say the slow original Romero zombies were better than the marathon sprinting Zombies of today are the same people that say Atari games are better than Xbox. There not. You are a nostalgic simpleton and there is no room for your nonsense in the post Zombie apocalypse world.
Movin’ on.
It’s not supposed to be a continuation of the Dawn of the Dead remake, but it does cast Ving Rhames (who played the police sergeant , Kennith, in the Dawn of the dead remake) playing a military officer.
In Dawn of the Dead, Kennith (Rhames) wanted to go find his brother who was in the military. Since Day of the dead covers the initial outbreak it’s fun to assume that the part Rhames plays here may be that of Kennith’s brother, thereby connecting the two movies, turning coke into Pepsi, and giving warm and fuzzies all around.
I’m not sure when the film is set to release but I am ready. Land of the Dead was a wash. I liked it, didn’t love it. I need something good this time.
Word around the campfire is that the movie is slated for a fall 07 release since the trailer got such bad reviews. Apparently they are reshooting some scenes. I don’t care what they change as long as they don’t make the zombies into the lame Land of the Dead zombies. “Oh, look at me. I’m a slow zombie. I couldn’t catch a turtle but you should be frightened by me. ”

Jeep.
We’ve all changed the oil in our engines and automatic transmissions but I was more than a little hesitant when it came to messing with my differentials.
I wanted to change the fluid myself since the local stop-n-lube wanted $80 to do the job but I didn’t want to open those gears up quite yet. Luckily my reservations were quickly squelched when I watched Zach change out his spider gears after destroying them at URE (not lucky for him). So, after he demystified the differentials I went to work on them armed with a great article from 4×4xplor.com.
Since I still remain garageless, Philip was kind enough to let me use his garage and tools.(Sorry about the mess by the way.)
We had everything done in no time. The only set back I had was trying to fill the differential without a pump. I had actually wondered why Zach was so adamant about me using one when from what I could tell, it wasn’t necessary . After about 2 seconds I realized he was right and that I would need the pump. There is no way to fill the diff without using a pump.
Anyway, saved me 60 bucks doing it myself. Nothing has fallen off yet, so it must have been a success.
Here is a picture off the diff cover After cleaning, with new RTV.

Scary gears

Jeep.
I’m writing this to help any other automotively challenged Jeep owners that may be suffering from this problem.
A few weeks ago I noticed my air conditioning was only blowing from the defrost, both windscreen and feet had air but nothing else.
No matter what I put the dial on all I got was defrost.
I read somewhere that this might be a loose HVAC hose so I tracked them down. It was in an obscure place so I thought I’d document it in case anyone else had the same issue.
This is for educational purposes. If you have a problem with your automobile please see a qualified mechanic.
No matter what the dial was on; defrost only.

Dirty jeep :)This picture was taken while standing on the front , driver’s side wheel.
The arrows indicate some of the HVAC hoses.

The hose on the right had come off, once I plugged it back in and secured it with a zip tie the A/C performed normally again.
