This past Saturday, September 16th, we (including Teddy & Nikki) threw a Surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary for Christine’s parents Harold & Debbie. Their 25th Anniversary actually lands on September 26th however they will be soaking up the sun in Beautiful Ormond Beach, FL on that day. LUCKY!
Christine has been diligently planning this Surprise Party since May and managed to keep it a complete secret from Harold & Debbie. The Party was held at Gary’s BBQ at 6pm with about 32 guests including family, friends, and old Co-workers. They thought we were all going out to eat at Razoo’s to celebrate their anniversary…Ha…ha…ha! Did we fool them?!
We did have 2 surprise guests for Harold & Debbie…Cookie & Bob Hammer. Cookie & Bob worked with Harold and Debbie in the Air Force in San Antonio, TX. Cookie was Debbie’s Maid of Honor in their 1981 wedding and after moving to NC, Harold & Debbie tried to remain in contact with them but somehow they all lost contact in 1987 and up until Saturday they had not spoken in 19 years! Christine made this possible by looking up Cookie & Bob, calling them, and inviting them to the party…all the while everyone kept it a secret…which was hard for Christine since she tells her mom everything. It just so happened that Cookie & Bob were already planning a trip to NC in September!! Much to Harold & Debbie’s Surprise not only did they have a party but also Cookie & Bob came! The reunion was definitely tear-jerking to anyone in that room! All in all the party went over flawlessly and Harold & Debbie ended up with some nice donations to their 1st Honeymoon Fund. This is definitely a party to last in everyone’s memories.
