It’s no secret that I love Battlestar Galactica. I listen to the BG Podcast, I read the spoilers, and I record every show.
Today when I was visiting the official BG page I noticed that they were notifying viewers who like to record the show that they will be going over their time by 2 minutes. Now, with every other show trying to screw with TiVoers by running their time short or long it’s a shock to me to receive a recording endorsement from a television program.

Lintheads No More It’s no secret that I am a native Kannapolis-ian ,being such I am very happy to read about the recent exciting events surrounding Kannapolis. Since it’s founding Kannapolis has always been a textile mill town. The majority of the population has traditionally been of meager education. Most people worked the mill and knew little or nothing of anything else. On July 30, 2003 Pillowtex officials announced the closing of their 16 facilities nationwide and in Canada. Kannapolis became the center of the largest lay-off in North Carolina history. 6,450 employees lost their jobs nationwide. Of the total displaced by the Pillowtex closure, 4,800 were in North Carolina. Over 3,984 of the employees lived in Rowan and Cabarrus counties. Since that day Kannapolis has been dying. This has been a time of uncertainty for our humble town. Homes are for sale, businesses are closing but today we have a reason to smile. We can now hold our heads up and to be genuinely excited to be Kannapolisians . David Murdock, Dole Food Co. owner and chief executive, also previous owner of Cannon Mills (before Pillowtex purchase) envisions building from scratch a biotech research and development campus on the site of the vacant Pillowtex plant in downtown Kannapolis. Murdock claims he is willing to invest an estimated $750 million in laboratories and other research facilities to help revitalize Kannapolis. The proposed Kannapolis campus would focus on nutrition and agricultural research rather than drug development, the Triangle’s strong suit. Murdock (no relation to the MacGyver Murdock) says that this “Biopolis” will rival any biotech research facility in Research Triangle Park. It will be a state of the art bio-tech campus connected with the local university systems (UNC and N.C. State). Apparently there are also plans to build a women’s only college in or near the campus. This couldn’t have happened at a better time. I’m hoping this venture will motivate local government to clean up certain recent qualities of Kannapolis that have been taking away from it’s charm. Kannapolis will hopefully be transforming from a mill town to a high-tech/education driven center in less than 5 years. We may have to stick around Kannapolis a while longer than we planned. I’m glad we bought our home when we did. Read more: Kannapolis may get biotech center Murdock to outline research-center plans Biotech backers say time is right for Kannapolis

We Must Never Forget

Look at that destruction, that massive, senseless, cruel loss of human life http://www.drabbuh.com/chadsspace. and then I ask you to look in your hearts and recognize that there is no room for neutrality on the issue of terrorism. You’re either with civilization or with terrorists.
On one side is democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human life; on the other is tyranny, arbitrary executions, and mass murder.
We’re right and they’re wrong. It’s as simple as that.
