The camera came. For the first time, I’m pleased with UPS. The camera was shipped from NY on Friday and arrived at my doorstep today. I’ve spent the evening getting to know Canon’s creative controls. They are just dissimilar enough from Nikon (which I’m used to) that it takes me a second or two to remember how to set some of the manual functions. I’m sure it will be old hat in no time.
Anyway, I love this 350D. It is so small to be a DSLR it almost feels like a point and shoot, great quality too. I couldn’t be happier.
Here is a picture I took of Bandit, one of our dogs, posing for me.

He’s a good boy.

Our friend’s Mandy and Robbie invited Christine and I to their home for dinner tonight. Mandy is a master of the domestic arts. Upon our arrival I was extremely impressed to see name cards on our plates at the dinner table. Mandy would give Martha a run for her money. The dinner was great. Afterwards we did what most 22 year olds do. We played board games and watched home movies. What can I say, we know how to party.

Here’s the story. My check engine light is on and my inspection sticker has expired, so I go to Grimy Gary’s Fried Chicken and NC Inspection Station. Grimy Gary tells me that the car won’t pass with the check engine light on. He says that most of the time this is just a bad gas cap. So I buy a new gas cap and I reset the car battery to clear the light. 100 miles later the light comes back on. So, I call the dodge dealership and explain the problem. Kannapolis Dodge man informs me that even though the car is still under warranty, if it looks like anything might have hit, scratched, chewed, brushed by, or coughed on any part of my car then the warranty won’t cover it. I then called the Lake Norman dealership that I had originally bought the car from. This time the service guy tells me that unless a squirrel has been chewing on the EVAP lines then it will be covered under warranty. I asked him if it was specific to squirrels but he didn’t know.
Hopefully they won’t find any bite marks when they fix my car. If they do I have to pay them an $85.00 diagnostic charge plus what ever it costs to fix the car.
I’m bringing it to them on Thursday night. I’m going to order my camera first thing Friday morning; in then event this cost money it won’t come out of my camera fund.

I am a Breakout Bat.
I am an abstract sort of creature, who dislikes any sort of restraint. If you try to pigeonhole me, I’ll break the box, and come back for more. I don’t have any particular ambitions, I just drift, but I am adept at keeping life going along. What Video Game Character Are You? |
