In preparation of Star Wars Revenge of The Sith (May 19th) Christine and I sat and watched Star Wars IV A New Hope tonight. Christine has never seen the Star Wars saga, and I’m thrilled to report she enjoyed Episode IV. We will be finishing off the original trilogy this week and will be watching the prequels next week. It’s great when you can dork it out with your wife and enjoy something as great as Star Wars together.
A secret of marriage seems to be finding something your both into and enjoying it together.

I’m also thrilled that the company I work for Action Performance Companies, LLC has produced a line of Star Wars NASCAR die cast for the new Star Wars movie, ROTS. I own two of the diecast I was given months in advance.Action has also produced a line of Star Wars apparel and trinkets.
Also, this weeks Nextel Cup race in Arizona showcased the Nextel cup cars that Action designed. I thought they were great. Reports were that George Lucas himself attended the race. The race also had storm troopers, imperial guards, and Darth Vader in attendance.

Apparently we have a peanut company (By we I mean the Hubbards). Christine’s employer sent her a dinner basket recently. Among it’s many content was a bag of Hubs, an expensive home cooked peanut product produced by the Hubbard Peanut Company. The Hubbards aren’t exactly a huge family and ever since ol’ L. Ron made the family name synonymous with Scientology we Hubbards can use all the positive propaganda we can get. So, if you fancy some great nuts try some Hubbard nuts (sorry mom).

Today the Reidsville Police Department was re-certifying their K-9 officers on the property adjacent to where I work. The officers were kind enough to bring the K-9s in for a little private demonstration for those of us that happened to be in the lobby. The dog’s names are Lando and Onyx. Lando a six year old Belgian Malinois male and is also from Belgium. What’s great about Lando is that he only responds to Dutch commands. Instead of sit, stay, walk, speak, attack, and find you say zit, verblijfsgang, spreken, aanval, and vinden. IMHO the Dutch is much cooler sounding than the traditional English. The other animal, Onyx is a five-year-old German Shepherd. She responds to German commands only…just kidding. Onyx only understands English.

The dogs were very well trained and behaved. When the show was over Lando walked up to the police cruiser, opened the door and hoped right in.

Apparently the dogs also play for the department baseball team because they have their own trading cards. Hey, I’ll trade you two Lando rookies for a mint Officer Krupke.

And here’s what the cameraphone saw.

Well, what do you expect from NC State? Avast, ye scalawags! North Carolina State University is now pirate territory! By an overwhelming majority, the Raleigh school last week elected a candidate called “The Pirate Captain” student body president, giving the old sea dog 58 percent of the vote. “We’re quickly goin’ to bae getting our plank started, get the simple things out of the way,” The Pirate Captain (search), real name Whil (or maybe “Will”) Piavis, a junior, told supporters after election results were unveiled Wednesday night. See the his website pirate.phora.net/votefor.html
