Police

BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training, aka. Police Academy, aka. Rookie School) graduation was on the the 15th. The ceremony was nice, we had some prestigious guest speakers including a local chief of police. I was elected Class Spokesman and I had to give a speech about what BLET meant to us and what we got out of the program. I also won an award. I got the “Top Gun” trophy for having the highest shooting scores in my class.

It was a great ending to a long program. Some of my favorite instructors showed up to see us graduate and I’m going to miss them as well as my classmates, which I grew very close to over the last nine months.

Sorry I haven’t been updating the site much lately. I’ve been busy trying to sell the house and with L.E.O. basic training.

I’ll try to update the site more in the future but most of it won’t be related to school.

When I asked about blogging about the L.E.O. training I was told not to have a site dedicated to the program nor to take pictures or videos. So, alas, I’m not able to provide you with much about the training right now.

I can say that it’s not easy but I’m sure it will be worth it.

I started Law Enforcement training last week. It was a long process just to get into the program, which itself is about nine months long. Don’t worry, I’m still working full time at the new job and I’m not abandoning the glorious I.T. world. When I graduate I’ll work as a part time officer for one our fine local departments (hopefully). I’ll work, when I can, as a full sworn officer to do my part to help serve the community.

My new boss and coworkers are very supportive and I’m extremely thankful they are letting me do this.
